Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is the Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd, founded in 2023. With a growing portfolio of 22 port terminals and integrated logistics services across 12 countries and four continents, HGT is redefining terminal operations with a focus on performance, safety, and sustainability. Our target is ambitious: to operate 30 terminals by 2030 while delivering exceptional service to our customers worldwide.
At HGT, we are a team of seasoned international professionals driven by growth, trust, and excellence. We are now looking to expand our global finance team with a highly skilled and strategically minded Senior Manager Accounting & Finance.
This role will be critical in strengthening financial governance, driving global reporting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, this position will have high visibility and influence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic financial insights that support business growth, operational scalability, and profitability.
- Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts for newly acquired or onboarded terminals.
- Drive the implementation of best-in-class financial practices across global entities, ensuring alignment with HGT’s long-term financial strategy.
Global Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the end-to-end financial reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated financial statements under IFRS and local GAAPs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and corporate governance policies across all jurisdictions.
- Act as a lead contact for external auditors, ensuring efficient audit execution and timely resolution of findings.
Operational Finance Oversight
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, managing financial accuracy across diverse international entities.
- Own the group-wide variance analysis, performance reporting, and management dashboards to support executive decision-making.
- Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations, including transfer pricing compliance and elimination entries.
- Support treasury analysis over liquidity optimization over the group.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Champion finance transformation and automation initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency through ERP optimization.
- Introduce data-driven methodologies and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to improve forecasting, scenario modeling, and visibility.
- Improve documentation standards and strengthen internal control frameworks across all finance functions.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior finance professionals across regional offices, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with IT, legal, tax, and operations to support enterprise-wide projects and system enhancements.
- Represent the finance function in strategic projects, including system migrations, reorganizations, and investment evaluations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or recognized professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is a strong asset).
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including 5+ years in leadership or strategic roles within multinational environments.
- Strong expertise in IFRS and Dutch GAAP, group consolidation, and multi-entity financial reporting.
- Demonstrated success in leading finance transformation projects and improving business processes across complex organizations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure with accuracy and agility.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Tableau). SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership.
- Strong leadership mindset with experience in developing and managing high-performing teams.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, ownership-driven approach.
- Fluent in English; Dutch or other European languages are an advantage.
- Experience in the terminal, logistics, or maritime industry is preferred.
