The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.

Main Objectives

  • Directing sales efforts to maximize both volume & contribution levels in Indonesia, driving the highest levels of quality, be customer-oriented and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd
  • Drive performance within the Indonesia Sales team by exceeding Quality promises and KPI deliverables
  • Responsible for coordinating all sales matters related to the country.

Functions and duties

  • Support, coach and steer the sales teams to achieve set targets
  • Holds responsibility for the Geo from and Geo to volume performance of country Indonesia.
  • Monitors customer performance and takes action to improve business where needed
  • Ensure that Push-Pull principle is followed to maximize sales performance and achieve deliverables.
  • Drive the identification of new opportunities by the team
  • Regularly review customer portfolios jointly with Sales Executives
  • Performance management as defined in Sales Foundation.
  • Support Country Manager, Commercial steering and Sales Director with budgeting, planning and strategy    
  • Ensure adherance of sales teams on target sales visit plannings and coverage of MR, CU and CN customers    
  • Work closely with Segmented vertical leads and Customer service teams to drive performance for all segments.
  • Provide feedback on the market including rates, competition activities, market conditions etc to all relevant stakeholders
  • Engage in TM discussions on relevant matters (e.g., tender guidance and negotiations, special commodity market rates, etc.)
  • Coordination of Area sales activities with Sales Director
  • Manage effective equipment forecast to fully align with volumes expectations.
  • Participation in area performance calls, projects as assigned by area management.
  • Drive and exceed customer satisfaction Net Promoter score.
  • Serve as back-up/surrogate for Country General Manager 

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial role, preferably in the maritime sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FIS and other HL systems
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Position will be based in Jakarta
