What are we looking for?

  • More than 5 years’ experience in Service Purchase, Procurement and the Shipping Industry or similar positions.
  • University Degree, Industrial, Business Administration, Civil Engineer or similar.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English & Spanish.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes and negotiation strategies.
  • Experience with database management and analytical tools.
  • Proficiency in Qlikview at user level (developer is a plus) and advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

As a Senior Manager Procurement, your responsibilities will include:

  • Review, analyze and plan structured negotiations with terminal and other port vendors in cooperation with area offices and vessel sharing partners.
  • Review, analyze and plan structured negotiations with depot and transport vendors.
  • Coordinate with trade management and local area departments to create operational plans from a cost perspective.
  • Support area offices procurement processes (generate spend and market analysis, documents for strategy alignment and support with RFQ processes).
  • Monitor of post negotiation allocation (measurement of correct assignment to vendors mainly for depot and transport distributions).
  • Develops tools and metrics to monitor vendor performance.
  • Work closely with area Directors on procurement process improvement.
  • Monitor the cost evolution, create annual action plan for cost reduction and trace expected/negotiated CPU variations.
  • Coordinate operational budget with the areas.
  • Among other responsibilities.
