To ensure all safety aspects are properly managed, including all legal issues as per IMDG and Solas.
Maintain close communication with QSC and Area offices in all DG matters.
Ensure IMDG, CFR49, Solas and in-house rules and regulations are adhered to/complied with.
Responsible for DG securities, inspection and procedures as per JWP
Monitor Areas DG POE to ensure compliance with DG procedures
Clarify all DG related questions within the team,
Handle special/ sensitive shipments
Respond to inquiries and assist with Cargo Patrol hits.
Prepare DG summaries with stowage requirements for planners, clarify stowage/ Segregation questions from vessels
Check DG stowage plans and take over responsibility for correctness
Perform weekend duty.
Additional duties to be considered for Specialist level:
Provide guidance to Areas pertaining to DG issues on daily basis.
Support DG Workshop for RAS Areas.
Ad-hoc
Involvement in pilot projects whenever necessary
Diploma in Marine Studies or at least 5 years’ experience in handling DG matters
Detailed knowledge of the IMDG Code, basic knowledge of related Regulations
Proficient in MS Office
Strong level of communications
