Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is the new Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd, founded in 2023. HGT delivers streamlined terminal operations for all shipping line customers and brings together a portfolio of 21 port terminals and complementary logistics services in 12 countries and on four continents: Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. We will be pursuing growth and set ourselves the target of operating 30 terminals by 2030.

Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to join our Project Management Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day project management operations, contributing to the project portfolio, and helping drive the execution of strategic initiatives to support HGT's growth vision.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with HGT's goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Directly manage strategic initiatives while providing support to other project team members.
  • Implement project management processes, methodologies, and tools to optimize outcomes and resource utilization.
  • Contribute to the PMO team's success by collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Synthesize project information into clear, concise updates and presentations for senior management.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and communication efforts to ensure clarity, transparency, and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks and issues, and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Create effective presentations that communicate project status, outcomes, and strategic value.
  • Assist the Senior Director of PMO on strategic planning and transformation initiatives.
  • Support change management initiatives to facilitate organizational readiness and adoption of new processes and ways of working.

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a track record of contributing to strategic initiatives.
  • Good team skills with ability to work effectively in a project management environment.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to synthesize information and create clear presentations.
  • Experience presenting to senior management.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Experience working on multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.
  • Good stakeholder management skills across different organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Teams, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in consulting or strategic roles valued.
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry, shipping, or terminal operations is a plus.
  • Collaborative team player with cultural awareness and adaptability.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
