Responsibilities

The Commercial Trade Lead Support plays a vital role in supporting the strategic and operational effectiveness of the GNP organization. This function acts as the administrative and coordination backbone for the Commercial Trade Leads by managing internal interactions, data alignment, and process optimization across assigned trade lanes. The role requires high organizational skills, reliability, and independent task execution to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and trade lane steering.

Commercial Trade Steering and Coordination Support

  • Support the Commercial Trade Leads in executing the commercial strategy for the individual trades.

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day tasks derived from internal collaboration with Trade Management, Cargo Control (TMCC), GNP regional teams, and Area sales organizations.

  • Prepare and consolidate data, materials, and reporting for internal discussions, area calls and trade-related meetings.

  • Work closely with the Commercial Trade Leads to provide updates, insights, and coordination for key initiatives related to assigned trade lanes and customer volumes.

  • Help identify discrepancies in planned vs actual volumes and support timely corrective action.

Performance Management & Sales Delivery

  • Assist in monitoring and following up on account-level performance against commercial KPIs.

  • Monitor Budget, CA Utilization and Area delivery performance in the context of the SDM (Sales Delivery Management) framework.

  • Support the GNP Segment SDM tracking and analysis at trade and area level, ensuring alignment with commercial goals.

  • Assist Trade Leads in driving SDM performance reviews, identifying opportunities and taking follow-up actions.

  • Collaborate with Areas to enhance transparency and delivery accountability against assigned targets.

Operational Escalations and Customer Allocation Optimization

  • Serve as a reliable back-office partner, taking ownership of operational continuity within the GNP Team and with internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with Account Managers to align on account-level developments and customer expectations that impact trade lane strategy or performance.

  • Track and analyze the CA Utilization, Space Optimization (Rollings), and streamline Allocation Management in close cooperation with Trade Management and Account Managers.

  • Assist in the QFP rolling selection process and close coordination with TMCC to ensure smooth Shipment handling and space optimization.

  • Facilitate the timely exchange of information regarding volume forecasts, booking patterns, and exceptions.

FAK Pricing & Commercial Data Quality Monitoring

  • Monitor FAK development and prepare the needed customer documents accordingly.

  • Work with GCC India (Global Capability Center) closely to ensure the high efficiency and accuracy of quotation generation and rate filing.

  • Attend and drive the regular interaction call with GCC.

Actively Participate in Commercial Projects on Behalf of the GNP Segment & Team

  • Assist Trade Lead/Account Manager to complete project-related tasks within given timeline.

  • Help to facilitate the progress of ARU & API.

  • Join GNP project-related calls if needed.

Requirements

Experience

  • 2–4 years of Liner Shipping experience, preferably in Commercial Steering, Trade Management & Cargo Control.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills and a structured working approach with attention to detail.

  • High level of independence, initiative, and accountability.

  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

  • Analytical mindset with a solid understanding of pricing, volume planning, and customer behavior.

  • Solid command of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of internal tools (e.g., FIS, CRM, allocation systems) is a plus.

  • Fluent in English; other Asian languages are a plus.
