Assistant Manager - HR Business Partner

Position: Assistant Manager - HR Business Partner (HRBP)

Job Description:

This role at Hapag Lloyd Technology Centre (HLTC) in Chennai demands an experienced HR professional with a strategic mindset. The ideal candidate should have a solid track record in HRBP roles, a deep understanding of HR practices, data precision, policy-making skills, and the ability to ensure a positive workplace environment and basic knowledge on legal compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and ensure a high level of employee morale. And ownership on driving independent engagements.
  • Lead and drive engagement initiatives (employment survey, focus group discussions, etc.) for the organization by ensuring high levels of participation, ensuring action planning across teams, thereby analyzing the survey results and employee insights to drive system improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify and address learning and development needs; conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify and prioritize learning and development needs.
  • Facilitate a culture of learning through identification of training needs together with technical L&D needs.
  • Develop and implement reporting and analytics to track learning progress, identify training needs, and measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Facilitate coordination with stakeholders on classroom and virtual training programs (leadership sessions, leadership learning off-sites, behavioural sessions).
  • Work closely with business teams to analyse people metrics (PIP tracking, etc.). Provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions on talent management.
  • Utilize HR analytics and data precision to provide insights and recommendations for informed HR and business decisions.
  • Collaborate with business and lead and drive the rewards and recognition program for the organisation, making sure to adhere to the defined SLAs for the same.
  • Drive the HR induction for new joiners, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Ability to lead and drive the agenda for monthly Townhalls.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred from a good MBA college).
  • Proven experience of 5-8 years in HRBP or HR generalist roles, with a demonstrated history of success.
  • Strong expertise in strategic HR partnering, rewards and recognition programs, Learning & Development role, employee engagement, HR analytics, and MIS.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage a global, diverse audience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, draw meaningful insights, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and effectively influence stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
