The Position

The Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs (DAF) is responsible for overseeing CNMP’s financial, administrative, and compliance functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the DAF plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial stability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while driving long-term growth and strategic objectives. This role involves close collaboration with HGT and Seafrigo finance department and HQ offices, to align financial strategies with shareholder expectations, manage financial risks, and uphold strong governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Control:

  • Lead budget preparation and execution, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets;
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to optimize costs and enhance profitability;
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with local and international accounting standards;
  • Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and liquidity to maintain financial stability;
  • Coordinate financial planning and reporting with HGT finance teams.

Administrative & Legal Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with French regulations, tax requirements, and labour laws;
  • Supervise contract management, vendor negotiations, and procurement to optimize costs and legal compliance;
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions;
  • Oversee payroll, employee benefits, and administrative policies, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Risk Management & Internal Control:

  • Develop and implement internal control measures to safeguard financial and operational assets;
  • Establish fraud prevention mechanisms and financial security protocols;
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies;
  • Manage insurance policies and risk coverage for CNMP’s operations.

Strategic Support & Stakeholder Management:

  • Provide financial and administrative guidance to the General Manager and leadership team;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HGT, Seafrigo, commercial and institutional banks, auditors, and external partners;
  • Support decision-making through data-driven financial analysis and business intelligence;
  • Contribute to strategic projects, including investments, acquisitions, and infrastructure development.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in logistics, port operations, or industrial environments;
  • Strong knowledge of French accounting regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance;
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control within dynamic operational settings;
  • Experience managing compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements in a corporate environment;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior executives, financial institutions, and auditors;
  • Fluent in French and English.
