Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is the new Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd, founded in 2023. HGT delivers streamlined terminal operations for all shipping line customers and brings together a portfolio of 20 port terminals and complementary logistics services in 11 countries and on four continents: Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. The position
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Finance Director with deep expertise in tax management
and external stakeholder relations to lead our financial strategy and ensure compliance with Dutch
regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities to
optimize tax structures, manage financial risks, and maintain strong relationships with auditors, fiscal authorities, and other external stakeholders. The Corporate Finance Director will work closely with
senior leadership to support business growth while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy & Compliance:
- Develop and execute tax strategies to optimize the company's global tax position.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT,
transfer pricing, and international tax matters. - Work with internal teams and external advisors to manage tax audits and disputes.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated on tax legislation changes and assess their impact on the business.
External Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee external audits and ensure compliance with financial and tax reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and manage negotiations and disputes.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory changes and their
implications. - Ensure transparency and alignment between internal financial policies and external reporting
requirements. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to support
corporate financing needs. - Lead efforts in fund or debt raising to optimize capital structure and support business
expansion.
Financial Planning & Strategy:
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead financial modeling and forecasting efforts to guide business planning.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, financing, and post-acquisition integration.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to enhance financial reporting and controls.
- Optimize corporate organizational structures to improve operational efficiency and tax
effectiveness. - Manage the transfer of companies within the same holding structure to streamline financial
operations and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. MBA or
CPA preferred. - 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, tax functions, and external stakeholder
management, preferably in a multinational environment. - Strong knowledge of international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and financial reporting
standards. - Experience in managing complex financial structures and external audits.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
