The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.

Main Objectives

Reporting to the Senior Director of Regional Operations, the incumbent will lead and optimize procurement operations across the Asia region. This role provides hands-on guidance and support for procurement-related matters(including but not limited to : contract negotiation, vendor management, resource planning, process optimization) in Terminals, Transport, Inland, and Feeders, ensuring alignment with regional and global guidelines.

Function and duties

  • Strategic Leadership: Align regional procurement strategies with global policies and drive procurement excellence across Terminals, Transport, Inland, and Feeder services.
  • Team & Performance Management: Lead and develop the regional procurement team, optimizing KPIs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partner with area procurement teams and local experts to implement strategic procurement initiatives. Maintain strong relationships with regional and area service providers.
  • Cost Optimization & Savings: Analyze cost structures and vendor performance to identify savings opportunities and support implementation to meet regional cost targets.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Support area teams in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and tender processes across key procurement categories.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure procurement activities align with QEM principles, corporate governance, and global procurement standards.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive new procurement initiatives, including vendor service level agreements and joint ventures, to enhance operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain, Business, Maritime. 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry.
  • Strong track record of vendor negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing regional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with local procurement teams, global headquarters, and external vendors.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive procurement initiatives.
  • Strong cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills to drive procurement savings.
  • Experience in vendor performance evaluation and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken mandarin is a strong advantage to lead and facilitate procurement discussions and agreements with vendors in China.

  • Expert knowledge of HL systems FIS, DAP, MARS, Compass and other applications
  • Expert knowledge of user application systems (MS Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • ARIS work process knowledge & systems support optimization
  • Ability to promptly process data and requests under pressure
