Job Description

Key player in our Commercial Steering team for Area Japan.  Based in Tokyo, you will be at the forefront of driving our commercial strategies in the international trade and development industry. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance business performance and ensure alignment with our global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support budget input and upload into company planning tools
  • Monitor and optimize vessel allocation with Region, Cargo Control, Trade Management, and Sales teams
  • Analyze booking trends and provide recommendations to optimize sales strategies
  • Control cargo allocation, ensuring efficient utilization of available capacity
  • Provide internal reports on status, forecasts and others
  • Collaborate with Sales, Trade Management, and Customer Service teams to review customer allocation performance and manage schedule optimizations
  • Evaluate and act on cargo control actions in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure vessel utilization targets are met by monitoring loading volumes and taking corrective actions when necessary
  • Drive data analysis initiatives to improve decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency

Required Profile, Qualifications

  • Solid background in commercial, sales, or business development, preferably within liner shipping industry
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a track record of successful commercial strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Fluency in Japanese is preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of user applications (MS Office, Salesforce etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
