Your responsibilities

Main Tasks
To manage and oversee the following tasks related to Area Arabian Gulf, ensuring tasks are completed within guidelines.

•    Preparing and Managing Financial Statements to provide a clear picture of the company’s financial performance for all countries and assist Arabian Gulf country finance for statutory audit requirements. 
•    Work with auditors to facilitate external audit and ensure financial transparency with zero qualified opinion. 
•    Reviewing and monitoring of Profit and Loss in coordination with finance for each of the country in scope ensuring accurate recognition including finding opportunities for cost savings. 
•    Monthly and Quarterly Financial Statement Review including Variance Analysis for both Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reflecting shipping business performance. 
•    Ensure compliance with Tax regulations such as Preparing and Filing of Value Added Tax (VAT) in accurate and timely manner avoiding penalties in coordination with third party consultants. 
•    Managing and monitoring lease agreement based on IFRS 16 – Leases Standard
•    Monitoring and analyzing of Internal and Commercial Waiver for Arabian Gulf locations
•    Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for Revenue Optimization, Profit Improvement and Working Capital 
•    Evaluate and report risks for all countries in scope including legal, tax, government / regulatory matters. 
•    Assist in developing, managing and monitoring Budget and Financial Reports
•    Collaboration with Internal audit to align all process and policy are in place.
•    Build and maintain relationships with external business partners, global partner banks, tax and industry experts, to stay up to date with industry trends and innovations
•    Assist finance manager in implementing policies and process improvement across countries in scope. 

 

 

Your profile

 

Successful criteria for this position:

Industry Knowledge
•    5+ years industry experience in Shipping industry
•    Degree as an Accounting or Finance with verifiable experience preferably with certification
•    Strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers 

Business Systems/IT
•    Good knowledge of user application systems (SAP, FIS, Qlikview / QlikSense, MS Office, Word, Excel)
•    Extensive MS Office, especially Excel skills
•    Process knowledge & systems support optimization
•    Ability to promptly process data and request under pressure.
•    Understanding of data quality benchmarking and management

Communication/Organization Skills
•    Communicative and ability to take initiative.
•    Good command of written and spoken English
•    Effective time management and planning skills
•    Knowledge of interactions with other functions
•    Systematic and efficient way of working
•    Ability to present complex correlations in a clear way.
•    Knowledge in Statistical Methods
