Overview

Operations Steering Support provides business related support for the Operations process with the goal of ensuring quality data and analytics for correct steering of the business and to provide management with information and operational analysis, operations reporting, Vendor & Cost Evaluation, Process Improvement, Monitoring Standard Cost Maintenance (TRACO), Monitoring Maintenance of contracts in SAP & FIS. And also help with analysis and development of operational cost initiatives for Operations.

Responsibilities & Tasks

•    Preparing, analyzing and distributing quarterly forecast and budget data for Operations.
•    Preparing, analysing and distributing monthly cost data to country management teams as well as the area leadership team. 
•    Ensuring system updates are accurate and up to date within the area as it relates to costs.
•    Analize controllable operational costs across multiple port locations within MAW.
•    Identify, initiate and steer cost saving measures.
•    Providing ad-hoc statistics from all relevant systems to support special analysis for management and operations staffs.
•    Tracking rebates / costs based on the various vendor agreements. 
•    Analysing overall cost and volumes per vendor.
•    Vendor evaluation and maintain an “approved supplier” list for MAW.
•    Monitoring vendor contracts in SAP. 

Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements

Experience

•    3 years’ experience in the shipping business, preferably within operations finance and data analytics / lean six sigma.
•    Experience in liner shipping business with good understanding of HL products and ship systems. 
•    Flexibility and spontaneity in changing work priorities
•    Good command of spoken and written English 

Education

High School Qualification / Diploma [R], Tertiary/University Degree or suitable business experience [P]

PC Skills

Windows Microsoft office. 
Comprehensive knowledge of user application systems (FIS, COMPASS, QV\QS and WebFocus)
