Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is the new Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd, founded in 2023. HGT delivers streamlined terminal operations for all shipping line customers and brings together a portfolio of 20 port terminals and complementary logistics services in 11 countries and on four continents: Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. We will be pursuing growth and set ourselves the target of operating 30 terminals by 2030.

The Position

The HGT Project Manager for Concessions will play a key role in driving global projects that maintain and improve our concessions and local development activities. Please note: It will be possible to apply for this position until 7/2/2025! After this date we will start the selection process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Building the lead pipeline of concessions projects to grow the portfolio;
  • Research and analyze local market developments, regulatory changes, and government policies around the globe to anticipate impacts on existing or new concessions;
  • Support the preparation of concession renewals and negotiations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and compliance with obligations;
  • Lead and coordinate global projects focused on maintaining, improving, and optimizing terminal concession agreements and local development initiatives;
  • Collaborate with group departments (Legal, Finance, Operations) to ensure effective execution of concession-related projects;
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies, fostering partnerships with government authorities, public institutions, and local communities;
  • Ensure regular reporting and project progress to senior management and relevant internal stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • 5 years of experience in project management, infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, or related fields;
  • General understanding of legal, financial, and commercial aspects related to long-term concession agreements or contracts;
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and agreements, identify risks, and propose effective solutions;
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to manage interactions with both internal teams and external stakeholders;
  • Experience working in a global or multicultural environment, ideally with exposure to government or regulatory bodies;
  • Highly organized and structured approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with project management tools;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Dutch) are an advantage;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex topics clearly and concisely;
  • Proactive mindset with a strong ability to drive projects forward and a willingness to take ownership;
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic global setting;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field;
