Reports to Senior Manager Transshipment
Purpose:
The holder of this position is responsible for all Transshipment execution, products, and performance in the Region, taking ownership of securing capacity and booking space with 3rd Party Feeder operators as well as internal space securing with Cargo Control. The holder of this position is required to have control on vessel pre planning in order to take proactive measures to control the flow of incoming transshipment. This holder of this position should be strong in stake holder management to closely work with other key stakeholders involved in vessel utilization. Responsible to monitor incoming / outgoing connections of their responsible service and nominate connections on respective SSYs. Proactively participate in vessel pre planning transshipment connections. Analytical mindset, quick decision making required for timely connection of transshipment cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the Transshipment strategy and planning in the Region
· Responsible for all transshipment execution ensuring timely connection of transshipment units
· Accountable for all transshipment connections and ensure transshipment adherence.
· Support in securing space on own network as well as 3rd party feeder for transshipment cargo
· Preplanning vessel transshipment connections in advance for SSYs covering all ports in region.
· Responsible for monitoring the regional Transshipment performance against targets and KPIs, including the monitoring of the Transshipment Planning and Execution function (located in region, QSC or Area)
· Monitor long term incoming transshipment connections for all ports/SSYs in your scope and timely escalations to control the flow in case of space scarcity.
· Should be able to monitor entire vessel space and seize opportunities to utilize space for TS as soon as vessel space is open.
· Accountable for GSC performance in inserting and updating the feeder schedules in the system
· Responsible to oversee Feeder / ITT WO creation and quality checks/approval.
· As a part of the Global Transshipment community, shape the future global Transshipment strategy and act as an advocate for global implementation
· Support the Cargo Operation CoE on process standardization & automation, and on FIS3 transformation
· Follow up with the Transshipment Execution on requirements and share business knowledge
· Using a variety of data sources and expert knowledge, identify structural and current Transshipment challenges and develop ideas and concepts to successfully tackle the same
· Cooperate and communicate with your regional, Area, and QSC counterparts, acting as a sparring partner which facilitates best practice sharing
· Coordinate activities with many internal stakeholders, including Marine Operations, Logistics, Cargo Control, Procurement, Areas/QSC, and Trade Management
· Reporting transshipment overview (dwell time / cost / deviations / bottlenecks) to all stakeholders
· Thorough knowledge of cost structure (TS cost / renomination cost / storage cost above free time) in order to take quick decisions for cargo evacuation
· Reporting budget adjustments required for transshipment cargo
· Taking ownership of transshipment cargo for timely completion of local requirements (manifest filing / documentation completion)
· Coordinate with vendors for cargo readiness
Qualifications:
- University Degree, Diploma in Marine Studies, experience as a Nautical Officer, or a similar qualification or experience in Liner Shipping or Logistics.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledgeable in MS Office applications
- With a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to work systematically under pressure
Preferred, but not mandatory:
- Functional leadership experience
- Operational transshipment background
- Previous knowledge/experience of Hapag-Lloyd systems/FIS
