Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) is the new Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd, founded in 2023. HGT delivers streamlined terminal operations for all shipping line customers and brings together a portfolio of 20 port terminals and complementary logistics services in 11 countries and on four continents: Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. Position
The HGT Manager Accounting & Tax ensures effective functioning of HGT’s accounting, financial and tax reporting for our holding company. Please note: it will be possible to apply for this job until 5/1/2025! After this date we will start the selection process.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support in financial accounting and the preparation of the individual financial statements of the company;
- Support in the preparation of external segment reporting (market and other information);
- Support in complying with group-wide uniform accounting methods and in carrying out Group accounting processes (e.g. IFRS treatment, IC reconciliation) for the terminal segment;
- Ensure month end close activities are completed accurately and on-time;
- Strong knowledge and experience over IFRS and Dutch GAAP;
- Tax knowledge for preparation of Dutch VAT and Dutch corporate income tax;
- Involvement in tax compliance and counterpart for local tax requirements of the company;
- Participate in tax impact analysis over international transactions over the terminal segment;
- Participate in credit management for the terminal segment;
- Support monitoring and controlling the sub-group's financial risk management;
- Controlling and monitoring of cash management, such as account opening and closing and powers of attorney;
- Support the management of liquidity of the company in particular administrating and conducting the cash-pooling;
- Conduct financial / liquidity planning of the company and corresponding communication to group Headquarters;
- Communication with banks & business partners;
- Coordination role for other Accounting & Finance related matters;
- Coordination of external audit work and yearend report;
- Knowledge in implementation and improvement of financial systems;
- Participation in strategic projects (e.g., M&A activities).
Candidate Profile
- Proven work experience under pressure;
- Strong collaboration skills to manage multiple stakeholders;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Dutch (not mandatory);
- Spanish or German is an advantage;
- Used to work for an international company;
- Required Experience in SAP FI (Mandatory) and SAP FC;
- Strong IT knowledge, especially for MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel) and willingness to learn how to use new system applications;
- Advanced excel and other IT systems is an advantage.
