AWS Landing Zone Engineer

Position Summary

The Landing Zone Engineer is responsible for cloud service design, cloud service automation and deployment of codified templates that can be used for provisioning, configuration, and orchestration within the AWS Cloud infrastructure. 

 

Job Description

·       Design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions using AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS.

·       Build, release, and manage the configuration of production systems.

·       Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

·       Collaborate with development and IT teams to design and implement scalable software services.

·       Ensure system security using best-in-class cloud security solutions, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), and AWS Shield.

·       Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across platform and application domains using AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and AWS CloudTrail.

·       Optimize infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Trusted Advisor, and AWS Well-Architected Framework.

·       Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and AWS Step Functions.

·       Implement and manage networking solutions using Amazon VPC, AWS Direct Connect, and AWS Transit Gateway.

 

Skills

       Require 7-9 years of technology experience.

       At least 3-4 years of experience in AWS Cloud Operations with large multinational organisations.

       Expert-level experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and CloudFormation.

       Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

       Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

       Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).

       Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes.

       Understanding of networking and security principles.

       Experience with configuration management frameworks like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.

       AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).

       Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
