THE ROLE – IT FINOPS MANAGER

This global role is responsible for establishing financial operations (FinOps) practices within the IT department. You'll build statistical and technical solutions for cost analysis, optimize IT expenses, and automate cost reporting processes. You'll collaborate with various stakeholders to drive cost-effective IT operations. This is a global role and oversees end-to-end IT FinOps Management at Hapag-Lloyd from cost perspective. The role represents a great opportunity to join an organisation of significant scale that is transforming to a platform operating model and looking to modernise its traditional application landscape and needs a strong analyst to help on that journey.

The IT FinOps Manager will be accountable for:

Cost Management & Optimization

  • Lead the Run Cost Efficiency Program office, focusing on cost governance, finance tracking, and standard operating procedures.
  • Optimize IT infrastructure expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Propose, design, implement, and maintain programs for cost performance reviews, savings initiatives, and best practices.
  • Analyse cost data to identify areas of inefficiency and implement cost controls.
  • Manage costs during growth and decline periods, avoiding overspending and excessive cost reductions.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure financial targets are met.

FinOps Solutions

  • Build and maintain statistical and technical solutions for FinOps, including models, tools, data integration, data processing, and data analytics capabilities.
  • Design and develop processes and tools for cost collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Integrate data from various sources (mainframe, on-premise, cloud) for cost analysis.
  • Leverage technologies for granular cost visibility and accurate financial data.

Process & Reporting Automation

  • Automate cost reporting and establish recurring organizational processes for cost management.
  • Develop and administer reporting and tracking systems for TCO/finance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement using automation technology.
  • Support EOM and EOY close processes for cost reporting.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive cost-effective solutions and foster innovation in cost management.
  • Communicate cost performance insights and data to stakeholders.
  • Prepare data-driven presentations and briefings for stakeholders.
  • Support peers by providing visibility to cost data and performance metrics.

SKILLS

Technical

  • Require 18-22 years of technology experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Finance Operations, experience with large multinational organisations.
  • Demonstratable experience in building tools and automation solutions.
