The Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT), founded in 2023, is the new Terminal & Infrastructure Division of Hapag-Lloyd. HGT delivers streamlined terminal operations for all shipping line customers and brings together a portfolio of 20 port terminals and complementary logistics services in 11 countries and on four continents: Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.

The Internship
We believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and our HR department plays a crucial role in fostering a positive, productive and inclusive work environment. As the HGT is rapidly growing, we are looking for an intern in the HR department that wants to make the difference. This internship gives you the opportunity to gain more knowledge across various HR-topics, like recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement where you learn from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment process (screening applications, scheduling interviews, prepare interview questions, attend job interviews);
- Send out onboarding documents and arrange adequate follow-up;
- Support the onboarding-activities;
- Participate and set-up employee engagement activities;
- Work out ideas to enhance the workplace culture;
- Create HR communication materials together with the corporate communication specialist;
- Provide assistance in HR projects;
- Support training and development initiatives, including workshops and training materials;
- Support HR with administration, data entry, file management and ensuring accurate employee records.
Your Profile
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in (Strategic) Human Resources Management or a related field;
- You are looking for an internship for at least 3 months, but ideally 6 months;
- You gained already some first experience within HR;
- Hands-on and a real go-getter: you make sure to get the job done;
- Strong communicator and organizational skills;
- Detail-oriented, creative and an excellent command of MS Office;
- Proficiency in English is required: additional languages are a plus given our multicultural environment;
- For this job you must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
