Job Objectives
The Senior Manager of Strategy Implementation is responsible for designing and managing Hanseatic Global Terminal’s strategy deployment system. This system ties together the strategy on all levels, from Hapag-Lloyd Group via Hanseatic Global Terminals to each individual terminal, and ensures that it is supported by actionable initiatives on all levels, that it is tied meaningfully to performance management and that there is an efficient review cycle so that the implementation plan of the strategy is always current and relevant. This role works closely with the HGT global leadership to ensure alignment between business objectives and operational initiatives, driving long-term growth and competitive positioning. The Senior Manager of Strategy Implementation System also works closely with local Terminal leaders and staff as they deploy local strategies.
Job Tasks
- In close coordination with the COO, develop the system for HGT's asset by asset strategy:
- Ensure a red thread from HLAG's 2030 Strategy and HGT's 2030 strategy to the strategy of each asset as well HGT HQ;
- Support each asset in translating the strategy into actions that are clearly defined and measurable;
- Create transparency by using an industry standard management tool to measure outcomes of strategic initiatives (such as Peoplebox.ai);
- Ensure connection and alignment of the framework with HGT’s performance management to track progress, celebrate successes and assign accountabilities;
- Develop an annual calendar with regular review cycles coordinated and linked with HLAG’s and HGT’s annual planning cycles including budget, forecasts, and other notable events such as supervisory board meetings and Executive Board seminars;
- Deploy LEAN thinking and methodologies to strengthen clarity of purpose, problem definition and problem solving, and anticipate continuous improvement cycles of the strategy framework;
- Engage actively with assets and portfolios to stimulate buy-in and sense of ownership throughout
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in strategic planning and implementation, preferably within terminal operations or the logistics industry;
- Good understanding of the container terminal business and the ability to align strategy with operational objectives;
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and timelines;
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with a focus on delivering results;
- Ability to influence senior management and drive strategic initiatives across a multi-site organization;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly to various levels of the organization.
