Job Purpose:

  • Coordination with the MRU QSC of the monthly and yearly closing for Uganda 
  • Financial & Corporate Audit preparation
  • Tax filing
  • Area objectives and KPI’s to secure
  • Budget and Quarterly Forecasts for OVH
  • Manage AP and AR

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the completeness and accuracy of all GL accounts
  • Responsible for timeous and accurate month end and year closing as per HL guidelines
  • Responsible for timeous and accurate submission of OVH budgets and forecast including DND, investments, SAP RE, etc.
  • Coordinate maintenance and improvement of processes together with the MRU QSC
  • Responsible for achievement of all targets in BA
  • Responsible for preparation of annual financial statements
  • Responsible for timely Tax filing
  • POE for Financial & Corporate Audit queries / requests, ensuring timeous closure of all topics
  • Implement and monitor processes to avoid the recurrence of audit findings together with introducing preventive processes to reduce and eventually eliminate audit findings
  • Responsible for the submission of Quarterly reports: Compliance, Risk Management, Tax Risk Assessment, Legal Contingencies
  • Work with all departments to proactively implement measure to prevent revenue leakage and overcharging on the Operational side ‘
  • Responsible for Area objectives and KPI’s, escalation if necessary.
  • Keep abreast of developments in CS, Sales, Ops to inform Management of impact of changes as well as ensure our processes
  • Ad hoc requests from Management
  • Drive innovation to create meaningful reporting and to address critical topics
  • AR follow up from input to reconciliation, collection process
  • Disputes coordination
  • Control of bad Debts
  • AP follow up from input to reconciliation
  • Payment process

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA – U or ACCA certification is a MUST
  • Strong accounting and finance experience
  • Strong knowledge on the Government policies and Tax Regulations
  • Strong internal audit experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent understanding of HL business 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to converse with stakeholders on many levels in the internal and external organization
