About the role:

We are seeking an experienced HRBP to ensure a high level of employee experience through the efficient and professional delivery of HR duties. Reporting to the Area HR Head, you will assist in the administration of company policies, programs, and practices that align with both HR and the broader business strategy.

You will be responsible for guiding employees, applying in-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures to resolve complex issues, and designing processes that enhance operational effectiveness. The role requires someone who can build consensus, drive improvements, and support the organization’s strategic direction within the organization’s West and Central Africa Area.

Your Responsibility:

  • Oversee HR for Ghana and support the Area Head HR to drive key initiatives for the area.
  • Identify opportunities and implement projects that will take the employee experience to the next level across the Area.
  • Drive employee engagement and recognition initiatives including Engagement Surveys.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by working with the recruitment agencies/internal hiring channels, interviewing and in the selection process.
  • Implement talent development programs, including succession planning, career development, performance management and leadership development.
  • Identify and implement organizational development initiatives that improve business processes and organizational culture.
  • Lead efforts in organizational change management, ensuring smooth transitions during restructuring, mergers, or other change.
  • Provide guidance on compensation-related matters, including salary decisions (locals & expats), promotions, and others.
  • Analyze HR data and trends to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee employee onboarding & offboarding process with support of Country HR/Admin colleagues.
  • Oversee payroll, manpower planning and budgeting.
  • Drive HR Projects such as sustainability, diversity, HR Communication etc.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken French and English is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner/generalist role in Africa or similar HR leadership position.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, talent management, organizational development and transformation.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business operations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
