Main Objectives of this position:

We are looking for an Area Inland Product Owner anchored in the Inland Commercial Team. to steer the Inland business into the future as a true second business pillar next to Ocean shipping. You will support the organization with full responsibility for the Area Inland product and network strategy.

Function and duties:

·        Develop the Area Inland strategy in terms of target customers and corridors in close alignment with Commercial and Operations departments​.

·        Work closely with the Commercial Inland Steerer to define and achieve inland budget targets and KPIs.

·        Drive the identification and development of relevant Inland products and define the Inland network strategy by conducting required analysis on underserved/overserved locations, equipment levels etc.​

·        Gather feedback on the market (from other Area Inland functions) including potential transport solutions for different modes and include product needs in the final product offering​.

·        Act as main point of contact for Sales Executives on product-related Inland questions and support Sales with tangible product information.​

·        Actively participate in tenders to integrate Inland expertise into tender bids and to ensure sufficient consideration of Inland Sales interests​.

·        Takes responsibility for KPI achievement and compiles the monthly Inland performance report for the Area.

·        Analyse fixed capacity requirements based on operations and commercial data and engage in active management of capacity availability and utilization

·        Conceptually support Procurement on vendor negotiations and SLA definition to continuously improve and extend the vendor base​.

·        Support Procurement in planning and managing strategic vendor relationships.

Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements:

Must have:

·        Very good communication skills in English

·        At least +5 years of work experience.

·        Experienced with Inland product and all related Trucking requirements.

·        Deep understanding on the full transport cycle including ocean & logistic.

·        Previous experience in Inland Operations and/or Procurement cycle.

·        Proactive manner and distinctive goal orientation

·        Conflict resolution skills and assertiveness

·        Methodical skills and efficient way of working

·        Ability to work in a team

·        Analytical and creative thinking skills

 

Nice to have:

·        Experienced in Sales and/or Operations.

·        Inland sourcing Experience in a trucking company

·        Preferably completed university degree in Business / Economics (or similar field of study)

·        Preferably further languages (esp. local language).

Success Criteria for Position:

·        Knows Inland-related processes from a Sales and/or Ops. Perspective

·        Good in basic Analytics (Excel / PowerPoint)

·        Strong local network
