Tasks and Responsibilities

As Global Container Logistics team we are managing complex logistical challenges every day. We oversee Hapag-Lloyd’s global empty container flows to deliver continuous container availability towards our customers. We define and implement effective structures, efficient processes, and state-of-the-art IT tools enabling our organization to draw cost optimal logistics decisions and increase the profitability of our container fleet.

As Manager Projects and Transformation you own or support the identification, preparation, setup, execution, and monitoring of key projects to further optimize global container steering at Hapag-Lloyd.

Your tasks include:

  • Drive and/or support projects to identify process and system improvements, and opportunities for further automation and digitalization
  • Drive and/or support the implementation of new standard processes, tools, or organizational structures
  • Prepare and conduct trainings, presentations, and workshops for Hapag-Lloyd’s global equipment organization (Global, Region, Area/QSC) and other related departments
  • Develop, roll-out, and monitor process- and performance management structures and KPIs
  • Define and implement diverse change management and continuous improvement levers and monitor their roll-out and adherence
  • Analyze different organizational, operational, and financial data sets with different analytical tools to identify improvement potential
  • Prepare management presentations and decision memos

Requirements and Qualifications

  • University degree in the field of business administration, operations-/logistics-/or transportation management, (industrial) engineering, finance, or information technology
  • Experience in global logistics and/or container shipping
  • Experience with project- and/or change management principles and processes
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Reliable and motivated team player
  • Ability to work independently with strong ownership for own tasks and responsibilities
  • Analytical mindset
  • Ability to analyze large structured or unstructured data sets
  • Good understanding of IT tools such as MS Office, Qlik, and FIS/COMPASS
  • Skills in statistical programming (Python, R, others) and data visualization are a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel internationally
