Hapag-Lloyd is seeking a seasoned Cyber Security Project Manager with a strong background in IT and cyber security. This role is crucial to the execution of our target operating model implementation for the Cyber Security Operations team.

Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security Operations and working closely with other colleagues from our CISO organisation and other cross-functional teams, the candidate will ensure the projects are executed as planned, contributing to the overall enterprise security by adding improvements of new and existing processes.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the target operating model for the Cyber Security Operations team.
  • Ensure efficient project work (classic & agile), assume responsibility for interdisciplinary and internal Cyber Security Operations team project management tasks and ensure compliance with project goals regarding time, budget, and quality.
  • Manage security projects started and/or owned by Cyber Security Operations, overseeing all aspects, including defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, responsibilities assignment, monitoring and summarizing the progress and successful on-time and budget delivery.
  • Drive cross-project efforts, define well-considered objectives and metrics, and collect and analyse data to guide decision-making and affect change.
  • Develop and guide deployment plans and communication internal to the Cyber Security Operations team and external with other CISO teams as well as third party stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing Change Requests on behalf of Cyber Security Operations team, which includes the approval processes and the adjustments of project planning and communication.
  • Maintain a working knowledge database of cyber security principles, guidelines, and elements.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within the CISO organisation to ensure alignment and execution of project plans.
  • Develop repeatable, scalable, efficient, and effective processes and provide insights and suggestions to improve cyber security.
  • Assist defining business requirements and roadmaps in alignment with the overall CISO Strategy Framework.
  • Drive RfI, RfP and SoW processes in collaboration with the CISO Office & Security Transformation and Procurement IT teams to ensure project staffing by external partners.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in managing IT projects and at least 4 of them managing cyber security projects.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CISSP, CISM are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience with automation, metrics analysis & presentation is a significant plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to clearly convey results in formal technical reports and deliver briefings to senior staff, technical specialists, and management, including CISO and C-Suite.
  • Excellent soft skills – team building, conflict resolution, empathy, motivation, creativity, flexibility.
  • Experience working in Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping/Transport sectors is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
