Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Global optimization of strategic procurement for transport services, ensuring alignment with Hapag-Lloyd’s strategy and meeting high standards for cost, quality, and availability
  • Drive the joint strategic planning, coordination, and global implementation of procurement projects in collaboration with regional procurement organizations and local experts
  • Provide methodological and functional leadership to procurement organizations worldwide, working closely with global category managers to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Offer advanced methodological and operational support to regions and areas, focusing on cost reduction initiatives and tender activities to maximize efficiency and savings
  • Oversee the control of global KPIs for procurement, providing critical support to regions during their annual budget planning processes
  • Ensure effective communication with upper management and all relevant stakeholders

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as Senior in strategic procurement, with a strong track record of global optimization and cost management
  • Experience in implementation of manifold negotiation concepts (e.g., eAuctions)
  • Strong project management skills, including experience in working in global teams, timeline management, and stakeholder coordination
  • Readiness to take on supervisory duties within the team structure
  • Shows a high level of engagement and works independently with a focus on achieving targets
  • Very good analytical and communication skills
  • Business fluent in English
  • Very good MS Office skills, COUPA-skills desirable Multinational and multicultural experience
  • Availability for global travel, also on short notice
