Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Head of Global Tender Management (GTM)
  • Responsibility for the overall Tender Process, ensuring customer requirements and deadlines are met, aligned with Hapag Lloyd´s offered services
  • Continuous enhancements of the Tender Process and Tools involved, such as Tender Tool and Salesforce, in line with stakeholders (e.g. Regions, TM)
  • Coordination with, guidance of and alignment with GCC team in Chennai
  • Global steering and reconciliation of Tender handling process
  • Upskilling of the Sales & TM organization on Tender handling process and analytics
  • Preparation of regular Tender reports and adhoc statistics for Senior Management, supporting in Management forums (e.g. Excoms, Commercial Summit), being the Tender data owner (e.g. QV Tender)
  • Definition of special projects and focus topics during low season (summer months) based on demand and opportunities, assigning tasks to team members
  • Leading role in projects and studies touching Tender handling (e.g. Tender Tool 2.0 in QBE)
  • Overseeing MFR Tower activities (2 GTM team members), focusing on MFR and ETS evaluations and process

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Master degree in business, logistics, shipping or other related subject
  • Responsible, determined and open-minded personality
  • Analytical, systematic and efficient working style
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Skilled to lead a team with a vision and to motivate staff members
  • Solid knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd Sales & TM processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS-office applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Teams) and of HL applications (FIS, QV), interest and motivation to tap into new tools and software solutions
  • Natural drive of questioning the status-quo and looking for improvements
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with additional languages as a plus
