Main Objectives of this position

QSC Cargo Manager has an overall responsibility of Vessel & Cargo Operations for the Areas under scope of QSC defined. Cargo Operations Manager ensure team performance as per defined SLA and KPI with Areas.

 

 

 Function and duties

 

To oversee overall Port & Terminal Operations team including the execution of the Ops strategy across all the Area ensuring strategic initiatives and daily tasks are carried out as directed and completed within SLA / KPI / Target defined by Areas / Region.

General Tasks and Responsibilities

1. To ensure tasks completion as per agreed SLA with Areas / Region.

 

·         Arrange Load/Discharge

·        check and trace pending container

·        check customs status

·        check DG documentation and acceptance

·        check import discrepancies before vessel arrival

·        create and evaluate no move status for container

·        create and provide TBU

·        Handle COD

·        Handle late runner

·        Insert container no. and stowage position for DG Containers

·        Maintain terminal dates

·        Coordinate for OOG handing and update of E-forms as per HL guidelines

·        Check on watchdog / DG hold containers.

·        Ensure DG containers are load basis only with valid DG Declaration which signed by Customer.

 

·       Distribute Load/Discharge Information

·        provide DG manifest

·        provide load/discharge information

·        provide reefer manifest

 

·       Finalize Load/Discharge

·        Check & authorize port/terminal WO for payment

·        Create additional terminal WO

·        Share TDR to concern desk for system upda

 

·        Create and submit main terminal WO

·        Define free WO (Where ever applicable)

·        Creation port WO

·        Perform ICCL checks

·        validate actual versus planned load/discharge information

·        Check VIM pendency and clear it on daily basis.

·        Monitor Open IR cases and minimize it to a significant level with co-ordination of AP Team

 

·       Handle Vessel Call

·        Maintains round voyage (actuals)

·        Obtain VIA / Rotation number from Terminal and Customs

·        Coordinate with vendor for vessel supplies, spares and crew

 

·       Organize ad hoc Special Handlings

·        Apply new seal

·        Handle reefer temperature deviations

·        Resolve DG placard issues iv. handling damages (vessel / containers)

·        Handling re-exports, cross stuffing and long standing and ensure timely movement / return of units

·        Keeping track of Import evacuation of container from terminals and ensure all movement completed with terminal free period

·        Ensure vessel handing as prevailing rules of Port authority, Terminals, Marine Department, Customs etc.

 

Any additional operational task not specified above.

 

·       Review processes for standardization, automation and migration to GSC.

·       Review reports for standardization and redundancy.

·       Ensure timely reporting of cost with high accuracy.

·       Steer cost saving measures / initiative for all reporting Areas.

·       Manage team to clear all Port and Terminal and related Invoices on time.

·        LAB (Loaded as booked)

·        Process Accuracy & Timeliness

·        Variable / Terminal Others Cost

·        Further KPIs to be defined by CoE (Center of Excellence)

·        Box-level performance management Incl. Monitoring of QSC teams

·        Regional Cargo OPS process owner, incl. push for standardization and future automation of the processes

·        Collaboration and escalation point with all Internal and External stakeholders involved box-related processes for the Area/QSC Cargo Execution colleagues

 

 

Qualifications and Technical Job Required

 

Industry Knowledge :

·       10+ years’ experience Shipping Industry.

·       Good Reporting skills

·       Good leadership capabilities.

 

Business System / IT :

·       Good in MS office (Excel / Word / Powerpoint etc)

·       Understanding of data quality benchmarking and KPI Manag
