If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team, focusing on project cargo.


As a Business Development Manager Project Cargo, your role is crucial to our organization's success. You will identify and capitalize on business opportunities within the project cargo sector. Your responsibilities include overseeing tenders, evaluating opportunities for strategic value, and ensuring alignment among internal stakeholders.

 In addition, you will have the chance to offer strategic guidance and manage performance for our regions, which will further contribute to our company's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities within the project cargo sector, utilizing your extensive knowledge and experience
  • Establishment of a project specific strategy together with responsible account owner
  • Manage the tender process, including preparation, alignment with internal stakeholders, submission, and negotiation, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of projects
  • Collaborate and align with internal stakeholders, including trade, pricing desks, sales, customer service and operations, to ensure a unified approach and successful business implementation and execution
  • Support our areas and regions by liaising with key customers in the industry
  • Continuously review processes and actively drive improvements
  • Monitor and drive regional performance to ensure volume targets are met
  • Coordinate business development plans with regions to drive volume growth
  • Contribute to the definition and drafting of the global Special & Project Cargo product strategy
  • Continuously review and evaluate business optimization opportunities and share best practices
  • Contribute to and/or manage business and/or IT projects.
  • Monitor market developments and trends, gather and maintain market intelligence and provide guidance to the organization.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the project cargo sector, experience in the container shipping industry is beneficial but not a must
  • Proven track record of identifying and winning new business opportunities in a highly competitive market. An existing customer portfolio is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of tender processes and ability to navigate complex contracting requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate potential opportunities and their strategic alignment with the company's goals
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate effectively across different functions and levels of the organization
  • Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach, capable of providing clear direction and driving performance
