About us:

Our Product Owner Cargo Operations is helping to bring our Port & Terminal Operations to the next level. Together with stakeholders from the business and IT, we analyze, support and enhance Hapag-Lloyd's global cargo operations centrally from Hamburg and drive system enhancement.

Your responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility of our software development and evaluation of business concepts with your teammates and your IT counterpart, using your experience from the interface between business and IT
  • Collect and document requirements from various internal and external stake­holders; develop ideas and concepts in teamwork with the objective to improve our system landscape for Cargo Operations globally
  • Exchange and align daily and closely with our team in business and IT as well as  other business departments worldwide to identify and implement functional requirements for the products in our responsibility
  • Prepare management presentations to summarize the program progress and measures required to be taken

Your profile:

  • University degree in (business) information systems, industrial engineering, logistics or similar area
  • First experience in project management, ideally at the link between business and IT departments and using agile methods
  • Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking in combination with a high degree of personal responsibility and a proactive working style
  • Pleased to engage with highly unstructured problems and perceive these as a challenge to evaluate and implement potential solutions while consistently considering the overarching context
  • Confident and convincing communication skills in spoken and written English, as well as the ability to document technical and business concepts clearly and understandable
  • Proficient in standard data analytics tools, e. g. Tableau, QlikView / QlikSense, Alteryx and the ability to understand, prepare and explain data in an easily understandable form
