Position Summary

Maximizes contributions, based on market conditions, for Hapag-Lloyd by maintaining and enhancing Hapag-Lloyd’s customer base through offering products that satisfy customers’ needs.  Effectively meets budgets and targets in order to meet the overall objectives of volume, revenue and contributions established through the budgeting process.

Key Functions & Accountabilities

    • Solicits potential customers; develops existing customers; services and maintains all accounts within assigned segment
    • Ensures deadlines are met when bids are received by providing commercial consideration to the various departments
    • Develops sales plans and manages accounts and service contracts
    • Develops budgets, in conjunction with management, with designated accounts.
    • Identifies customer problems and addresses to proper responsible department for solving
    • Develops and maintains excellent work relationships that enhance customer services
    • Works with Accounts Receivable department when accounts become delinquent to help escalate the issue with the customers’ management
    • Updates weekly Customer Relationship Management  (Sales Force) activity reports in compliance with Hapag-Lloyd policy
    • Works towards achieving Area Sales targets
    • Additional ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  •          Previous Sales experience
  •      University degree or equivalent 
  •          Very good command of written and spoken English
  •          Working knowledge of MS Office
  •          Able to work well with others and follow guidelines
  •          Positive attitude
  •      Receptive and able to grasp new ideas and motivate one’s self for personal development
