Decoupling our component based monolithic solutions, re-think and building independent, cloud-based modules with a microservice architecture to keep our IT leadership within the industry.

At Hapag-Lloyd IT, the teams are product-oriented and are responsible for the global implementation of new functionalities within our Freight-Information-System (FIS). Our international development teams are working with passion on our new cloud-based environment. Come on board and join our Finance team to deliver jointly our new finance solution. The Finance product is connected to various FIS products and external systems, including SAP and data warehouse solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for you to become part of our journey!

Your responsibilities:

  • As a Product Architect (f/m/d), you will be responsible for IT architecture design and decisions within the finance product
  • You will actively support the development team in implementing solutions and conduct quality reviews and approvals
  • You will safeguard system stability and ensure successful delivery through the release process in collaboration with the team
  • In close cooperation with the product owner, you will design new features and detail requirements for our finance solutions
  • Together with your team, you will analyze complex business processes and find creative solutions to existing and new challenges

Your profile:

What you'll need to succeed

  • University degree or a comparable education within a relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture patterns, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience in the development with Java EE and related technologies such as JPA, CDI and Junit
  • Experience working as an IT solution architect
  • Strong analytical mindset, proactive and solution-oriented work style
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as intercultural competence
  • Experience in agile methods
  • As an internationally active company, we require a good command of written and spoken English
  • Interest in technology and innovation – we want to continuously learn and adapt our technology and solutions.
  • On-site work for at least 3 days/week in our new, modern IT office in the heart of Hamburg’s city center

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Knowledge in finance processes would be appreciated
  • Experience in a cloud-based development stack
  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
