Your responsibilities:

We are looking for a Junior Manager of Sustainability to support and drive decarbonization initiatives within Hapag-Lloyd. The ideal candidate will be excited about environmental and social responsibility, possess strong analytic skills, and be ready to contribute to our company's sustainability goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to grow and develop within our organization while making a meaningful impact on the industry's decarbonization efforts.

  • Help with the creation and implementation of Hapag-Lloyd's sustainability strategy. Make sure it aligns with top industry practices and global standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to carbon emissions, fuel consumption and different sustainability-related metrics. Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay informed about environmental regulations and international agreements related to the maritime industry. Ensure the company's compliance with appropriate sustainability laws and guidelines.
  • Cooperate with diverse teams to pinpoint chances for lowering greenhouse gas emissions. This includes the use of eco-friendly technologies and fuel-saving methods.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry organizations, to promote sustainability initiatives and foster partnerships.
  • Identify areas for improvement in sustainability practices and propose innovative solutions to enhance the company's sustainability performance.

Your profile:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field
  • Strong passion for sustainability and environmental responsibility
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of maritime industry practices and regulations is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work together in a global, cross-functional team
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
