We are looking for a Digital Manager to join our team in Dubai to drive Hapag-Lloyd’s digital strategy and initiatives across Area Arabian Gulf. Reporting to the Area Managing Director and working closely with Sales and Customer Service, you will use your digital marketing skills and passion for digital technology to drive the promotion and usage of the company’s digital products and solutions internally and towards customers, ensuring the successful implementation of digital campaign activities for new and existing products, with the goal of improving customer experience and creating value for the company.

Your responsibilities

  • Digital strategy: Define and agree on targets for the Area. Propose and execute actions to achieve set targets and increase usage of digital products and solutions.
  • Product promotion: Disseminate general, marketing and strategy information to the Area. Advise, train and support the Area to use the company’s digital products and solutions and ensure brand consistency (including attending customer visits where required). Run informative / refresher digital products trainings during promotion periods and during new product launch. Act as technical expert and point of entry for internal and external technical support requirements on the company’s digital products for the Area.
  • Campaign management: Plan and execute effective and compelling marketing campaigns to support the launch and utilisation of digital products and solutions.
  • Customer engagement: Engage directly with customers using various channels and platforms to inform and train customers in using the company’s digital products (road shows, connect sessions, attending customer meetings, email, telephone calls, social media, etc). Assist and understand customer needs and requirements, guide customers on the most suitable digital solution/s (market segmentation).
  • Analytics and reporting: Monitor, analyse and report digitalisation performance against targets. Formulate and execute plans and campaigns to increase utilisation. Consolidate customer feedback and consult with the Region regarding possible campaign enhancements based on customer feedback.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Serve as the link between the Area and Region for all digital products and transformation initiatives. Regularly network with Digital teams in other Areas for knowledge and best practice sharing, campaign ideas, market feedback, etc.

Your profile

Successful criteria for this position:

  • University degree or equivalent in marketing, business, data science, IT or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital product and solutions marketing, preferably in a commercial role
  • A digital enthusiast with specialised technical knowledge and experience in digital technology and digitalisation
  • A natural salesperson whose communication style is always selling in a general sense
  • Knowledge of interactions and coordination with other functions: Sales, Customer Service
  • People leadership experience as a leader of others or team lead is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Outgoing and communicative, able to instil change through your interactions with others
  • Result and solution oriented team player with a proactive approach
  • Comfortable to work independently to achieve set goals and deadlines
