Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Lead and coach global project teams in terms of highly effective procurement methods, negotiation excellence and overall project management
  • Actively coach ongoing negotiations throughout the process (from strategy definition, tender design to execution) and co-develop supplier performance evaluation methods to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and reliability
  • Develop and carry out negotiation quality assessments and procurement excellence maturity checks and summarize best practices and lessons learned- drive further development for increased value contribution and process improvements
  • Ensure that processes and methods are adhered to and responsibilities are lived in accordance with defined governance  Further (co-)develop highly professional procurement methods and tools and provide input for company-wide training programs
  • Set up and deliver procurement and project management trainings in the HQ and regions building on  world class procurement assessment observations
  • Communicate with stakeholders inside and outside procurement to gather and share ideas for optimization, share knowledge and best practices throughout the organization

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of business administration, logistics, transportation management and / or qualified shipping specialist or comparable qualification
  • Profound knowledge and minimum of five years’ experience in program or project management
  • Several years of progressive experience in procurement, including track record of implementing state-of-the-art procurement methods such as eAuctions, with a significant portion in leadership roles
  • Prior experience in strategic procurement or supply chain management is essential
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to think strategically, set clear objectives, and execute plans to achieve procurement excellence
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team, partially without disciplinary power
  • Innovative and creative mindset
  • Analytical mindset and very good stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel globally
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
