Main Objectives of this position:
Execution of Vessel & Port terminal Operations for all Areas under scope of QSC. Responsible to define process for load and discharge activity and Cost Reporting. Need to ensure team follows defined SLA and KPI set by management / Areas.
Function and duties:
- · Responsible for execution of Port Terminal operations activity within agreed timeline and constantly work on to improve process.
- · Co-ordination with Terminal and Port /Partners for respective service vessels.
- · Co-ordination with respective area offices.
- · Vessel optimization, guide ops team to maximize the vessel lifting.
- · Report quality of subcontractor performance and issue noncompliance.
- · To monitor Smooth operations of Main line vessels.
- · Constant drive to save costs and verifiable measures to monitor savings.
- · Ensure to review work knowledge of team and take necessary steps to improve
- · Arranging Vessel, Port and Cargo Operations in accordance with local rules / regulations and safety/security & procedures
- · Tracing shipments to assure that all containers load as booked.
- · Checking information at the terminal and Hapag-Lloyd systems against actual documentation and for indications of hazardous cargo.
- · Providing forecasts to terminals and vessel planners on cargo set to sail.
- · Preparing, coordinating and supervising transshipment activities.
- · Making sure vessels are loaded and unloaded in a timely fashion.
- · Being the initial point of contact for claims, notifying the proper parties of damaged equipment/cargo and arranging for surveys to be conducted.
- · Preparing hazardous manifests and collecting hazardous dock receipts; hazardous dock receipts are combined with the information contained within the booking
- · Providing Terminal Departure Report to vessel planners after vessel sailing.
- · Maintaining all vessel arrival and departure information as required.
- · Validating invoices for storage, reefer monitoring and various terminal costs
- · Reconciling cargo booked for vessels at cut off dates to avoid imbalances at the terminal.
- · Arranging and providing cost estimates for special shipments (ie: out-of-gauge, stowage, lashing, securing)
- · Solving terminal booking problems, updating systems and assisting customers and drivers with issues.
Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements:
- 12 years industry experience in Shipping industry and Port Terminal Operations
- Multiple port and terminal / planning experience and knowledge of customs process
- Solid understanding of Vessel, Port, Terminal, Transport (Feeder, Rail, Truck), Equipment & M&R functions.
- Familiar with depot / CFS operations including reefer containers
- Sharp Focus on Cost management
- Vendor management experience preferred.
- Ability to take initiative and resolve complex issues.
- Time management and work planning skills.
Business Systems/IT
- Good knowledge of user application systems (FIS, MS Office, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of user applications systems (FIS, COMPASS (If applicable))
- Process knowledge & systems support optimization
- Ops process and system reengineering
- Awareness of data quality importance, steering, etc
- Ability to promptly process data and request under pressure
- Understanding of data quality benchmarking and management
