We are seeking an experienced and highly organized IT Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our team. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to ensure successful project delivery. Knowledge of Service Management and ITIL practices is essential.

Your responsibilities

  • Project Planning:
    • You have the full responsibility - from defining project scope and goals to determining the deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
    • You also develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
  • Project Execution:
    • You successfully manage project execution (incl. assigning tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring adherence to project timelines)
    • On a regular basis, you monitor project risks and issues in order to implement appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Team Management:
    • You naturally take on the responsibility to lead cross-functional teams (incl. developers, engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders) within your projects
    • As an inspirational leader, you provide clear direction and support to your team members, thereby ensuring effective collaboration and high-quality deliverables towards your customers
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management:
    • You provide regular project status updates (incl. reports and presentations) for your team members, stakeholders, and senior management
    • You foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including IT-teams and third-party service providers
  • Service Management:
    • You easily apply Service Management principles and best practices to ensure that your projects align with our business requirements and deliver value to your customers
    • You also coordinate the integration of project deliverables into operational processes together with the IT Service Management teams
  • Change Management:
    • You manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources
      You also assess the impact of change requests and communicate adjustments to stakeholders on a regular basis, while ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and objectives

Your profile

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are preferred
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager (incl. strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, meaning that you possess the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders at various levels
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management principles for IT projects
  • Proficiency in Service Management frameworks (such as ITIL) - including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Service Level Management
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources appropriately
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, timelines, and priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • German and English language skills

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
  • Experience with Agile/ Scrum methodologies is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as MS Project, JIRA, or similar tools, as well as Confluence or SharePoint is a plus
