Main Objectives of this position

  • The Regional Cargo Operations Manager oversees and manages all cargo-related tasks and processes in the Region, ensuring regional coordination towards the CoE.

Function and duties

  • Responsible for the cargo-related strategy and planning in the Region
  • Responsible for monitoring the regional box-level performance against targets and KPIs, including the monitoring of Areas and QSCs performance 
  • As a part of the Global Cargo Community, shape the future global cargo strategy and act as an advocate for regional and global implementation 
  • Support the Cargo Operations CoE on process standardization and future automation of the cargo-related processes
  • Collaborate and act as an escalation point with all internal and external stakeholders involved in box-related processes for the Area/QSC Cargo Operations Planning & Execution colleagues
  • Using a variety of data sources and expert knowledge, identify structural and current challenges and develop ideas and concepts to successfully tackle the same 
  • Cooperate and communicate with your Regional, Area, and QSC counterparts, acting as a sparring partner which facilitates best practice sharing 
  • Coordinate activities with many internal stakeholders, including Marine Operations, Logistics,  Cargo Control, Areas/QSC

Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements

  • University Degree, Diploma in Marine Studies, experience as a Nautical Officer, or a similar qualification or experience in Liner Shipping or Logistics.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office applications
  • With a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to work systematically under pressure
