To complete timely and accurate GST, voyage return and DIT compliances.
Job Specification - Key Accountabilities
Areas of responsibility
GST
- Good Knowledge of GST provisions.
- Ensuring timely monthly GST compliance of INR 6000 Crores T/o companies
- Co-ordination with the consultants for ensuring that the GST compliance is done well before the time.
- Co-ordination with customer for any GST related queries as raised by them.
- Co-ordination with internal teams wherever required.
- Data collation for the GST Assessments, investigations and Audit.
- Co-ordination with the consultants for GST Assessment and Audit.
- Co-ordination with users both internal and external to the organization for implementation for any system changes arising on account of change in GST provisions.
- Passing necessary accounting entries in SAP.
- Identifying the loopholes in the existing process and suggesting ways and means of improvements.
- Streamlining the internal process wherever required.
- System automation wherever required.
DIT
- Basic knowledge on the DTAA treaty benefits.
- Ensuring DIT certificates are obtained well before the vessel arrival no ensure smooth flow of the vessel operations.
- Timely and effective co-ordination with the HQ team with respect to the documents as required for the Annual and periodic DIT Applications.
- Co-ordinating the consultants, solving queries if any on the documents and ensuring the DIT application is filed well within time.
- Streamlining the internal process wherever required.
- System automation wherever required.
- Creative and innovation thinking.
- Proactiveness in approach.
Voyage
- Ensuring timely filing of the Voyage return with the ports.
- Timely and effective co-ordination with the sub agent for getting the voyage returns filed.
- Co-ordination with the consultant for obtaining NOC at certain ports.
- Tracking the status of the Voyage return filing.
- Strong follow up with the concerned teams.
- Streamlining the internal process wherever required.
Qualifications and job requirements
- Industry Knowledge
- Experience in Shipping industry will be an added advantage.
- Chartered Accountant with verifiable experience
- Knowledge of Finance & Accounting is a must.
- Familiar with Direct and Indirect Taxation aspects.
- Familiar with Accounting aspects.
- Business Systems/IT
- Awareness of data quality importance
- Knowledge of user application systems (SAP, FIS, MS Office, Word, Excel)
- Process knowledge & systems support optimization.
- Ability to promptly process data and request under pressure.
- Understanding of data quality benchmarking and management.
