The roughly 2,600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment handle terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Focus on comprehensive strategic coverage of the terminal vendor portfolio according to vendor segmentation (budget, sourcing, etc.)
  • Support the professionalization of the terminal procurement function by implementing and enhancing methods and frameworks including port and terminal playbooks and supplier relationship management
  • Contribute to the development of procurement frameworks and processes
  • Work closely with complementary procurement teams to implement the category strategy
  • Develop, enhance and execute negotiation strategies towards terminal operators assigned and ensure that lessons learned are captured and documented in a structured way
  • Interact closely with contract management to ensure compliance in realization of contractual parameters (in collaboration with the regions)
  • Execute strategic supplier management tasks and create, evolve and enhance stakeholder relationships
  • Balance opportunities provided by various available terminal operators and identify potentials for value add through collaboration
  • Collect insights and conduct research activities for the relevant vendor segment
  • Provide relevant market insights for the regions and other internal stakeholders
  • Closely align with other procurement-internal and -external stakeholders to support identification of additional value add potentials for assigned vendor segment (i.e. sustainability, extension of business portfolio etc.)

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of business administration, logistics, transportation management and/or qualified shipping specialist or comparable qualification
  • Min. 3 years experience with transportation, shipping, terminals operations
  • Min. 3 years in procurement functions, incl. but not limited to experience in negotiations and supplier relationship management
  • Study or work abroad is a plus 
  • Analytical thinker with a passion for reasearch
  • Experience in successful stakeholder management
  •  Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
