The task

Hapag-Lloyd is equipping all its 1.8 million dry and reefer containers with tracking devices to increase transparency of the supply chain. It will be your responsibility to organize and manage the rollout of dry and reefer tracking devices to our containers around the world. You are coordinating supply and delivery logistics to more than 200 depots globally while guiding the internal planning process for installation volumes with our partners in regions and areas. While the rollout progresses you are conducting regular performance calls and reviews, challenge the organization to perform better and find creative ideas to achieve our overall target: equip as many containers as fast as possible.  

Your responsibilities

  • Managing the overall rollout process of smart containers from factory, through logistics to depot installations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with internal partners from regions and areas and challenge performances against agreed targets.
  • Escalating issues and finding solutions to bottlenecks to secure the pace of the overall rollout progress.
  • Communicating and planning the rollout activities with our external device providers daily and with a strategic perspective.
  • Thinking ahead and pro-actively identifying issues and potential problems early to develop solutions.
  • Implementing processes, tools, and methods to improve the efficiency of the rollout.
  • Building your own brand to become the main point of entry for all rollout topics of smart containers at Hapag-Lloyd 

Your qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with high degree of self-organization and can-do mentality.
  • Affinity for communicating and moderating larger groups of diverse interests.
  • University degree in business studies, supply chain / logistics, IT engineering, service management, or similar degrees OR professional training / apprenticeship
  • First professional experience within different functional areas of container shipping.
  • Insights and experience within IT projects, their usual proceedings and development cycles.
  • Competences for structuring and analysing complex sets of data.
  • Expertise in maintaining, inspiring, and fostering a close relationship with internal and external partners.
