We are looking for the best candidate who would like to join our Marine Operations Team in Viña del Mar, as Vessel Planner.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Create stowage plans according to established booking guidelines and forecasting procedures. COD´s and special cargo such as out-of-gauche, break –bulk must be pre-approved, and stowed as per Hapag- Lloyd guidelines. All necessary information must
    be exchanged on agreed intervals.
  • Compare booking status against forecast and check against vessel´s capacity.
  • Monitor the allocation of Lines ( SITREP ) and the vessel in close contacts thin product management and partners.
  • Create and maintains coastal schedules for all ships operated by Hapag- Lloyd in the region. This includes the monitoring of canal transits, berth availability and equipment, so as to take necessary preventative /corrective measures.
  • Coordinate vessel operations in ports though communicating with the ships masters for operation within the ports, including the updating of tank statement to ensure vessel stability can be monitored.
  • Provide and advise the vessel with calculations for stability, trim, shear forces, torsion, bending moment, draft, and air draft.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stevedores to order labor and make sure that the plan is followed for loading and unloading cargo to assure safety, reduce cost appropriately maximize stowage.
  • Revise TDR.
  • Addresses any queries regarding stowage or operation of the vessel.
  • Circulate the Baplie file according distribution list including ACP ( Panama canal Authority ).
  • Follow up of noon vessel position ( T1200 – HIP/ OMNI ).
  • Good communication , clear and concise into the organization keeping a good vocabulary and level of technical complexity. 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • More than 3 year’s experience
  • University Degree, Merchant Marine Engineer (First Officer or Second Officer) or equivalent. Required.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish
