Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Global optimization of strategic procurement for container feeder shipping services under consideration of high requirements in respect to cost, quality and availability according to Hapag-Lloyd’s strategy
  • Joint strategic planning, coordination and global implementation of feeder procurement projects together with regional procurement organizations and local experts
  • Methodological and functional lead of respective procurement organizations worldwide
  • Methodological and operational support for regions and areas in conducting cost reduction initiatives and feeder tender activities
  • Identification and processing of external and internal market analyses as basis for feeder procurement strategy development
  • Exchange and continuous development of feeder procurement and negotiation methods and tools as well as active consulting of internal stakeholders for optimal application
  • Steering and maintenance of relationships with global feeder partners and service providers
  • Controlling of global KPIs for feeder procurement and support for regions and areas during their annual budget planning
  • Safeguarding of internal communication and maintenance of relevant IT platforms

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree in transportation, business administration, logistics and / or training as shipping clerk (or comparable qualification)
  •  Extensive procurement and negotiation experience from various years of successful practice
  • Experience in implementation of manifold negotiation concepts (e.g., eAuctions)
  • Extensive knowledge in feeder shipping
  • Project management skills and experience
  • High engagement as well as self-reliant, target-oriented working style
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Target orientation and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Business fluent in English
  • Team player
  • Multinational and multicultural experience  
  • Availability for global travel, also on short notice
