About the Knowledge Center:

The Knowledge Center, located in Gdańsk, is a hub for innovation and development of the advanced business and technology solutions to help us navigate the future. Our ambition is to create leading IT system in the shipping industry, and we want to do that together with you. 

We are looking for leaders who are willing to join our IT organization and develop it further as IT Director of Operations Products in Gdansk.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relevant teams and products in the domain Operations Products, working jointly with global units responsible for our innovative logistics applications
  • Accompany the related products throughout the full life cycle, and work to balance short-term achievements with long-term goals  
  • Engage executives and other major stakeholders to support important business and technological decisions
  • Drive the digital transformation of Hapag-Lloyd in your area of responsibility

Requirements:

  • Three to five years of experience in managing agile IT teams of an international organization – preferably combined with experience/acumen in logistics
  • Experience with Agile methods and frameworks (experience in a SAFe environment is a benefit)
  • Excellent understanding of modern product delivery processes
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of software engineering and passion for software quality
  • Information management and quantitative skills, including working knowledge of IT infrastructure, public cloud, various technologies/platforms, and enterprise-specific vendor solutions
  • Positive attitude and a highly developed sense of service orientation
  • Strong and motivating leadership competence
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in successful stakeholder management
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business informatics or business administration is preferred, but not required - much more important is your experience and your attitude
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
