Our team in Hamburg is in charge of architecture, design and implementation of Hapag-Lloyd’s API & Integration Platform. We are advisors for our specialist departments and IT product teams and support the implementation of new B2B channels. We also continuously optimize existing solutions in collaboration with our expert colleagues. To guarantee the highest grade of reliability, we work together with professional external partners for operation and support of the platform.

Your responsibilities:

We see your role as IT system engineer (m/f/d) as a flexible all-rounder and dynamic team player, who is keen in further developing our cloud-based integration platform as well as on a professional level. We offer a variety of tasks within the expansion and evolution of our platform, from design to implementation and management of operations, where you will find good opportunities to grow together with us. As part of a powerful team, you can contribute to one of Hapag-Lloyd's core systems and have a significant impact. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Continuous architectural and functional development of our product in the area of B2B integration and API management
  • Development and implementation of interfaces for integration into the existing and future Hapag-Lloyd application landscape including development processes
  • Advice and support for our internal specialist departments and IT product teams for the implementation of business services on our platform
  • Coordination with operations providers, software vendors as well as product experts
  • Conceptual design and implementation of solutions for monitoring and determining KPIs

Your profile:

What you'll need to succeed: 

  • Completed degree in computer science or comparable
  • Experience in software development and relevant tools, such as version management, CI/CD, planning and collaboration tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, ...)
  • Experience in other programming languages, development environments and different operating environments is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies and development of container-based applications (e.g. Open Shift, Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage as well as experience in the area of "Infrastructure as Code" (e.g. Terraform)
  • Willingness to work at our office in Hamburg 3 days/week and 2 days remote according to our policy
  • As an international company, we require good written and spoken English skills
  • We especially value flexibility, a dynamic mindset and the ability to work in a team – since these traits are key to our success and the basis for our special company culture

Nice if you have:

  • Understanding of HL IT Products 
  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
  • Experience in dealing with APIs and other communication solutions is welcome, but not a must
