Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Orchestrate the development, negotiation and codification of vendor-specific collaboration concepts for Global Terminal Operators
  • Ensure consolidation of supplier-specific collaboration approaches into comprehensive category strategy for Hapag-Lloyd, including alignment of cost saving targets and measures with Regions for a comprehensive terminal cost budget
  • Manage strategic proposals to secure Hapag-Lloyd‘s terminal capacity requirements and competitiveness, incl. frameworks for long-term partnerships
  • Actively steer and support cross-regional category strategy implementation and sourcing activities, aligned with relevant stakeholders and frameworks ensuring maximum outcome for Hapag-Lloyd
  • Initiate and manage port studies to analyze mid- / long-term balance of surplus vs. demand and implications for Hapag-Lloyd’s sourcing concepts
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships on relevant levels and serve as escalation level
  • Ensure close alignment with other procurement-internal and -external stakeholders to support identification of additional value add potentials for and across terminal operators in scope
  • Facilitate (co-)creation, codification and implementation of a global supplier management process, standardized methods and tools for strategic terminal procurement

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of business administration, logistics, transportation management and / or qualified shipping specialist or comparable qualification
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with transportation, shipping, terminals operations or similar
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in procurement functions
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
  • Very good negotiation skills and conflict management finesse
  • Strong and motivating leadership competence
  • Extensive experience in successful stakeholder management
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
