Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Orchestrate terminal negotiations with focus on structured preparation within specified regions
  • Ensure comprehensive strategic coverage of the terminal procurement strategy with focus on regional vendors
  • Collaborate and coordinate extensively with procurement leadership to develop agreements which guarantee competitive cost and operational performance (Service Level Agreements) at the terminals and for the operators in scope
  • Provide input for a comprehensive budget, balancing regional requirements, available vendor landscape and overarching global strategies
  • Oversee development, enhancement and execution of negotiation strategies towards regional terminal operators and ensure that lessons learned and results are captured and documented in a structured way
  •  Interact closely with contract management to ensure all agreements are realizing contractual values
  • Develop strategic supplier management programs and create, evolve and enhance stakeholder relationships
  • Evaluate terminal performance in close cooperation with vendor management and regional procurement
  • Ensure balancing of potentials provided by key regional suppliers vs. global / strategic vendors
  • Manage insights and research activities for the relevant vendor segment. Manage the provision of relevant market insights for the regions and other internal stakeholders
  •  Ensure close alignment with other procurement-internal and -external stakeholders to support identification of additional value add potentials for assigned vendor segment

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University degree in the field of business administration, logistics, transportation management or comparable qualification
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with transportation, shipping, terminals operations or similar
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in procurement functions
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem-solving skills
  • Very good negotiation skills and conflict management finesse
  • Strong and motivating leadership competence
  • Extensive experience in successful stakeholder management
  • Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
