Purpose

The purpose of this role is to have dedicated resource supporting area operations with operations steering (OPSS) activities so that opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies can be identified. This role will also assist in driving performance management and supporting various locations in adopting HL way of working, imparting knowledge - particularly when we envisage further growth in the area.

Key Accountabilities

1)    1.   Supporting Operational Steering & Coordination

a.      Support operational cost budgeting process for area

b.      Variance analysis for TER, TRA and S&D costs by querying locations

c.      Managing cost accruals throughout the year and making year-end adjustments

d.      Timely updates in TRACO and TREX for costs and recoveries 

2)   2.   Supporting Area OPS in Performance Management (Area)

a.      Capturing and monitoring key performance stats

b.      Preparation of Monthly Area Cost Review Pack (area + country level)

c.      Preparation of Monthly Area and country OPS scorecards 

3)    3.  ICCL checks for operations (ND 3PA locations)

a.      Reviewing monthly ICCL files after comments by stakeholders

b.      Updating summary sheet for sign off by Area OPS Director and Area MD 

4)   4,  Ad hoc Support on need basis (Area)

a.      Training and support with HL OPS systems and processes

b.      Short term assignment to address any key issues at locations

c.      Process review for alignment with HL standards and optimization

d.      Operational efficiency projects as identified by area management

 

Critical Qualifications

Technical Competencies:

        Good understanding of Microsoft applications.

        A first degree in Finance, Accounts or a related field from a reputable university.

        Thorough knowledge of port based applications (Navis, ICUMMS etc.) and documentation procedures.

      Ability to work on several systems simultaneously and interpret the data.

Core Competencies:

        At least 2 years’ experience in shipping/container steering
