Objectives of the Position

  • Drive performance across all segmented verticals and sales channels in Area West and Central Africa thereby exceeding our quality promises and KPI deliverables.
  • Coordinating all sales matters related to Area West and Central Africa.

Function and Duties

  • Guide, coach and instruct Area Sales team.
  • Drive and direct the sales organization (including the Third-party agency) to achieve all targets set for the Area.
  • Monitor customer performance and take action to improve business where needed.
  • Be aware of relevant competition activity and market developments that may impact the business.
  • Support the rollout of and adherence to the Commercial Blueprint in the Area.
  • Participate and support the global/regional projects related to sales.
  • Review customer survey results and implement measures to improve customer satisfaction together with other relevant departments.
  • Assist in the rollout and drive the usage of new and existing products offered by Hapag-Lloyd.
  • Liaise whenever required with the sales management of other areas.
  • Safeguard effective equipment marketing by steering containers to equipment demand areas and depleting surplus areas.
  • Work closely with other area Directors and the Quality Service Centre on process improvement and communication flow.
  • Analyze competitive information and market statistical data and generate the business plan to gain and maintain market share as well as contribution.
