At Hapag-Lloyd we know that digital product offerings and IT capabilities are one of the most critical success factors for delivering customer value in container shipping. As an Agile Coach, you will operationalize an agile mindset and agile practices for the teams within our Core IT System program. 

We’re looking for a servant leader with good understanding of agileagile mindset and modern product delivery. You’ll ensure that agile is well understood in the teams that you will work with, and you’ll be a part of the team of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches, who are transforming the ways of working in Hapag-Lloyd. You help stakeholders to well interact with scrum team in order to maximize value created by team for our customers.

Our ambition is to create leading IT system in the shipping industry.

This includes following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Act as Scrum Master for two-three agile teams
  • Be an Agile Coach for the team but also for the department and organization
  • Support the dev team to become autonomous, self-organized and multidisciplinary
  • Support the Product Owner to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy intra-team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope
  • Support teams within our Agile Release Trains in becoming high-performing agile teams
  • Establish cross-team interaction formats with the goal of continuously improving performance and steadily increasing overall productivity
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies for and with the teams, such as sprint retrospectives, sprint demos and sprint plannings
  • Support your team in preparing for PI Plannings and other SAFe ceremonies
  • Removes impediments so the team can focus on the work at hand and follow Agile practices
  • Supports coordination of the work between teams where there are dependencies
  • Supports teams’ focus on technical and quality excellence, as well and continuous integration and fast delivery cycles
  • Take part in our communities, work with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to grow within the role and contribute to the advancement of Agile practices

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Passion for agile, continuous learning and improvement is a must 
  • Proven experiences in driving Agile adoption/transformation for IT teams
  • 2+ years of experience as an Agile Coach or Scrum Master
  • Strong hands-on experience in using agile methods / frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban
  • Experience in a SAFe environment is a benefit
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of Lean-Agile methods and practices and skilled to apply them
  • Analytical mindset with a highly structured way of working
  • Excellent communicational skills verbally and in writing
  • Strong moderation, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Reliable and motivated team player
  • Fluent in English, German is a benefit

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Scrum Master Certificate
  • SAFe certificates are an advantage
  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
